We’ve come to part 3, “Taking on systems that privilege the wealthy and powerful to demand a government and economy that works for the people.” Except the left doesn’t care about the people. They are only pushing their agenda and screw everyone else. This is a 5-part section, so I don’t expect it to take very long, but I’m reasonably sure I won’t agree with any of it. Let’s see. Someone Else Who Doesn’t Understand Morality
I had another short discussion with someone on Reddit, who was claiming that philosophical concepts that are true can be defensible with science. His example, of course, was morality and he was trying to use Sam Harris’ Moral Landscape as his defense.
Sorry, I disagree entirely with Harris. We got into it. As is no surprise, after a dozen or so exchanges, he just ran away. What else is new? Continue reading Someone Else Who Doesn’t Understand Morality
Matt is Still Wrong on Morality
I caught this video over on Atheist Experience today, which is an old one where they’re desperately trying to attract people to the show, when the old ones were vastly superior. Never mention a better movie in your movie.
However, at one point early in the video, Matt talks about the superiority of secular moral systems that makes morality “objective”. He’s just wrong. Continue reading Matt is Still Wrong on Morality
Trolls and True Believers
This happens all the time, but I’m going to talk about one specific instance because this is why it’s really hard to tell the difference between true believers and poes and trolls.
I’ve been making that observation forever. Let’s get to it. Continue reading Trolls and True Believers
You Have to Start Somewhere
I’ve said for a long time that wanting everyone to be just like you are, that’s a recipe for disaster. It just starts echo chambers where no one can ever learn anything because everyone already believes the same thing. I am not like that. I think it’s an unrealistic expectation, but recently, someone called me out on it and I wanted to respond.
So here we go. Continue reading You Have to Start Somewhere
deliberationunderidealcond5105 Debate Part 1
So I’m doing a blog debate with , which will be posted on both of our blogs. I explained that I just don’t do live debates, as I’ve spelled out time and time again on the YouTube channel, because I don’t find them to be worthwhile. There’s too much emphasis on “gotcha” and word games, plus the time constraints, so I just don’t do them.
This is also going to be posted on his blog, which you can find here. It’s being done specifically that way to prevent any hanky panky, not that I’m accusing him of doing so, but it’s always wise to do your due diligence.
This will be his opening statement and my response. No clue how often these will come out, whenever we get done, I suppose. It’s not like these things need to be a rush, it’s just two people hashing out points, and anyone who wishes to comment, please feel free to do so. More Leftists Not Looking in the Mirror
Not that it’s any surprise, but here we go again. Rationality Rules made a video, which, absolutely is true for what it’s doing, but he completely ignores the fact that his own political ideology does exactly the same thing. He can’t acknowledge that, can he? He can’t even see it happening.
He can’t look in the mirror and use the same standards against himself. What else is new? Continue reading More Leftists Not Looking in the Mirror
That is NOT Rational!
I’ve seen this a couple of times of late, where people will defend the religious because, well, they don’t know any better. They are somehow rational in their beliefs because they’re stupid.
No, they’re ignorant. That’s not being rational. We have to hold people to higher standards. Continue reading That is NOT Rational!
Why I Don’t Care About Ayaan Hirsi Ali
I wasn’t going to respond to this at all and I think that by the end of this, you’ll understand why. Recently, Ayaan Hirsi Ali came out and claimed that she was a Christian, not for any good reason, not that I think she believes any of it, but by playing the part, she thinks she can achieve some political goals.
That, my friends, is just idiotic. Continue reading Why I Don’t Care About Ayaan Hirsi Ali
Some People Shouldn’t Be In Charge
Just another quick one, as I ran across it, but there are some people, quite a few in my opinion, who just have no business being in charge of anything. Ever. This is especially true of online public forums. We’ll get into the details below the fold, but if you can’t keep your personal opinions out of your moderation, sod off. Continue reading Some People Shouldn’t Be In Charge
