I just finished up making a video where this came up, and therein, I said I wasn’t going to go into it because it was going too far afield. Therefore, I figured before that came out, sometime at the tail end of January, I figure, I’d post my thoughts here on the blog for all to see.
I do my level best not to pay any attention to politics these days. It’s all crap, no matter what side you’re on and I’ve got better things to do than bother with it. All political advertising goes straight into the trash without being looked at. I’ve started to tell people who call that I’m actively voting against anyone whose followers bother me. Most of the time, they just hang up.
That said though, sometimes it’s hard to avoid the terrible crap and that comes almost entirely from the left. I just wanted to look at two or three of them. Continue reading Absurd Political Ads→
I just keep running into these things and it’s bizarre how people can’t see that their own side is doing all of this too. It doesn’t matter if you’re talking about the left, whining about the right or vice versa, both extremes are doing the same damn thing and can’t see what they’re doing in the mirror.
There was another video from The Atheist Experience where, at least it sounds to me, that the left is entirely blinded to the things that they do, while being hyper-focused on what the right is doing.
That’s nothing new. I’ve pointed that out before, but the examples are blindingly easy to come up with. So let’s take a look.
I like Thomas Sowell in general, but even he has some problems, some blind spots that I think are endemic to social and political thinking and need to be pointed out.
Therefore, here I go, as I did in the comments on one of his videos, pointing out that it’s not just the left that have issues. The right is every bit as bad. Continue reading Where I Disagree with Thomas Sowell→
I know I’ve mentioned this before, but it’s just hysterical to watch it happen time and time again. The left has an infamously short memory and they simply forget when they do stupid things, while pointing out all of the stupid things done by the right.
I’ve been thinking about this a lot lately and frankly, I’m out of people to vote for. There’s an election coming up in a couple of weeks and, at the moment, I don’t think I can vote for anyone on the ballot in good conscience.
If you talk to the religious, they are convinced that there’s no way that a cult could arise in short order with a messiah that isn’t real. That’s how they know that Jesus was God!
This is what makes being a secular conservative so difficult sometimes because the vast majority of people that you might have one thing in common with, you invariably strongly disagree with them on their underlying principles.
Take Charlie Kirk, for example. In general terms, I agree with a lot of the things he says. It’s just when he opens his mouth about religion that I absolutely cringe. So let’s explore one of his videos and see exactly where the problems lie. Continue reading Where Charlie Kirk goes Wrong→
I came across this yet again on the latest episode of Truth Wanted, where co-host Dave Warnock decided to pretend that there’s only one side in any political debate.
