The Failure Never Ends

I ran into this yet again, in another throwback episode of The Atheist Experience. Matt really has problems not understanding the words that  come out of his own mouth.

This is why I object to him the second he walks into social issues because he has every bit as much faith as a theist in the issues that he embraces. But first, let’s link to the video and then we’ll talk more. Continue reading The Failure Never Ends

Matt Dillahunty is Still Ignorant

I’m often critical of a lot of things that Matt Dillahunty says. Granted, I think he’s a skilled debater against a lot of religious topics and he deserves a fair bit of credit for that. Then, sadly, he leaves the reservation of reason when it comes to his social and philosophical views, which are not defensible, not evidence-based and not verifiable in any objective way.

Here comes another case of that. Continue reading Matt Dillahunty is Still Ignorant

Adios Matt

So Matt Dillahunty has decided to leave the Atheist Experience and, apparently, all things having to do with the Atheist Community of Austin. We don’t know why, we can only make some wild guesses, but personally, I’m not at all broken up by it. In fact, I think it’s a positive move for the show going forward because, unfortunately, Matt has been there so long and been such a big influence, I think he’s really started to pull the show down and push his own personal agenda.

So let’s talk about it.

BTW: He’s released a video explaining why it happened. You can see it here. Continue reading Adios Matt

Anecdotal Evidence Isn’t Sufficient

And whoever made this can’t spell.

So, as is no surprise, Matt Dillahunty is wrong once again. He claimed, on a recent video from The Line, that anecdotal evidence is, in fact, evidence. It’s not. It’s a claim. In and of itself, it doesn’t actually demonstrate anything.

I’ll explain why that’s the case below. Continue reading Anecdotal Evidence Isn’t Sufficient

Here We Go Again!

I keep telling myself that I won’t respond to this because it isn’t going to change anything, but every once in a while, I have to, because this time, it wasn’t just once. I could ignore it if it was once. It was twice in a row that Matt Dillahunty lost the intellectual thread and started ranting.

Come on, can we just stop? Please? Continue reading Here We Go Again!

Keep Your Fee-Fees Under Control!

This is one of those things that, as I’m sure you can understand, got sparked by watching a bunch of videos over on The Atheist Experience. That should come as no surprise to anyone, but since today, as I’m writing this, is Thanksgiving, I had a lot of time, sitting around and waiting for the food to cook, so I spent it watching some YouTube videos.

Yeah, that rarely ever goes well. So let’s  talk about it. Continue reading Keep Your Fee-Fees Under Control!

Is Slavery Actually Immoral?

I hear this a lot from the non-religious, as though it’s a demonstrated fact and it’s not actually true. Recently, I was listening to a lot of Atheist Experience clips and the subject of slavery comes up a lot. That’s fine, of course, but it also shows a very clear bias and irrational bent from Matt Dillahunty that I think it’s important to look at the problems with these claims. So off we go. Continue reading Is Slavery Actually Immoral?
