I Hate Progressives Part 16

We’re into the next part now and it hasn’t really made a difference. None of these progressive talking points meet the rational smell test and certainly not the honesty version. I know that the far left is not honest, they have proven it time and time again, so we’re going to revisit that today and I’ll show why I don’t accept their rhetoric. I want a party that I can trust and I don’t think any of those exist.

I’m taking this from The Progressive Promise, which is a platform statement from the House of Representatives. Unfortunately, like all platform statements, what it says doesn’t stand up in actual reality. Yes, I know that this is not what all progressives believe and that it is being stated in the most attractive way possible to attract people to vote for them, but still, this is why I cannot stand any of these positions.

Strengthening oversight of financial institutions.

I would actually agree with that if I thought they were serious. However, as we know, what they say is not what they mean because both extremes have tried to use financial institutions as a sledge hammer to stop people from doing things they don’t like.

In particular on the left, they have tried to bully credit card companies into refusing to do business with companies that say or do something not beholden to the progressive way of thinking. If you’re a conservative, especially if you’re outspoken against their side, they will do their very best to “cancel” you and ruin your life because they can’t handle some well-intentioned competition.

This isn’t as big a problem these days as it used to be, or at least not as visible to the public eye. A couple of years ago, credit card companies were cancelling accounts of conservative YouTubers left and right, just because they said something that the far left didn’t like. In fact, that’s why a lot of people tried to start new payment processors to get away from the undue influence of the left. Then, the left went straight to theĀ  banks and the cycle started over.

The left is not pro-free speech and, to be honest, neither is the far right and any party that tries to shut up their detractors, that party will not get my support. I’m a free-speech absolutist. The only counter to speech is more speech. Anyone trying to shut anyone else up, screw them and the left has a long history of trying to do exactly that.

So no. Hard pass on this one.
