All the Sides Suck!

It’s really hard to find a side in modern society that I want anything to do with. Every side of any size sucks and I want nothing to do with any of it, yet mostly, we’re expected to embrace the suckage and pick a side and I really refuse to do so.

Here’s why.

I caught a video on YouTube, which was great, for a while, right up until they started talking about “Judeo-Christian values”. So here’s the video and I’ll see you below.

I’ve said this many times before, I want a society without hard-core liberalism and without religion, but it seems that’s not possible, at least not if you don’t want to be a lone voice crying out in the wilderness.

Believe it or not, you don’t need religion to have morality, which seems to be a major sticking point for the right wing. Apparently, they’re not especially creative or rational, which I suppose sums up the problem on both sides.

Both ends are pushing an agenda and I want to do away with agendas, at least of the extremist variety. Neither side seems capable of stepping back and evaluating their own problems because, in the modern fanatical world, they don’t think they have any.

This is something I’ve pointed out many, many times and sadly, it doesn’t seem to be getting any better. In fact, it seems to be getting worse. Some people might recognize the complete futility of the leftist woke brigade, but they’re dragging along their own irrational baggage that I can’t stand too. Where is the line between craziness on the left and craziness on the right? I’m not sure it even exists anymore.

I realize that we’re in an odd time these days, between the coming downfall of organized religion and the rise of the social stupidity on the left. Both of these are entirely faith-based positions and I reject faith out of hand because faith doesn’t get you to truth and truth is all I care about. If you don’t have truth, what else matters? Your childish feelings? Hard pass!

So the question remains, what’s someone like me to do? I’m far more moderate, at least in my social concerns, than pretty much anyone around me, but it’s the only path that seems to make any sense. Critical thought, zero faith, keep your emotions in check and come to the most rationally defensible solutions that you can and the second you talk about that, people jump all over you because they just want to believe. What’s a rational person to do?

I really wish I had answers.
