All Lives Matter

Sorry John but you absolutely got your ass handed to you.

So Godless Engineer put up part of a discussion, the  video will be linked below, where he and a Christian were supposed to be debating the question of “all lives matter”. And  sorry, in this particular exchange, GE completely lost.

So let’s explore it.

First, go watch the video in question, it’s short and it will allow us to all be on the same page. I’ll still be here when you get back.

Now granted, I don’t thing GE went into this knowing just how badly he’d get trounced because his opponent, Ben, had a working knowledge of the issues involved and John simply didn’t. I can forgive some of that, this was an off-topic aside that, even though John acknowledges that he pushed it in that direction, he was absolutely not prepared for the encounter.

That said though, he’s just wrong. I find this a lot from people on the political left who are just pushing an emotionally-comforting narrative and don’t actually understand the reality of what’s going on. All lives do matter and in order for that to be true, it must include all lives. Black, Hispanic, Asian, native populations, there aren’t any exceptions. All lives must matter, exactly the same as all others.

Yet this isn’t how the leftist side tends to work. There are an awful lot of people who are feeling ill-defined guilt over the past, such that they’re willing to let BLM and the Antifa and other such groups just run right over them. They are full, as we saw in this clip, of liberal talking points that they’ve never actually bothered to intellectually consider for themselves.

Because we do see people, including one of the founders of Black Lives Matters, who are absolutely racist. Yusra Khogali, has said that she thinks white people are “recessive genetic defects” and that white people should be “wiped out”. Now that’s just one person’s opinion, but you don’t see anyone, at least that I’m aware of, on the “all lives matter” side, saying that black people ought to be wiped out. There is a ton of racism among the BLM side and, unfortunately, an awful lot of white liberal guilt that lets them get away with saying it. Of course, another one of the founders, Patrisse Cullors, just stepped down over questions on the mismanagement of BLM funds that sure look like she was profiting from the organization. That has nothing to do with her personal views, but it does show that there’s more going on than just a fight against supposed injustice.

Back to the video though, because Ben was completely in control the entire time and, for most of it, I agree with him entirely. Nobody can argue that there hasn’t been racism in the past. There undeniably has been. However, we can’t continue to live in the past, we have to move forward in the present and that seems to be a problem for a lot of the left on this matter. What happened yesterday doesn’t matter. It  doesn’t affect what happens today. Ben was absolutely right when he said that you can’t fight racism with more racism, yet that’s pretty much all groups like BLM and the leftist mob want to do.

The way to solve racism is to stop caring about race. Race shouldn’t matter. Neither should gender, yet all you see on the left is a celebration of what makes us different, not an acceptance of what makes us the same. It’s why things like the 8A development programs that Ben was talking about are such a problem. It should be 100% merit based. Who supposedly owns the company shouldn’t matter at all. I say supposedly because I know someone who owns a construction company, yet they list their wife as the de facto owner because it opens them up to jobs they couldn’t get otherwise. It’s actually owned and operated by a white guy, but the name on all of the paperwork is his wife, who has nothing to do with the running of the company. This is very common because this is an inherently racist policy.

The same goes for school scholarships. Your race shouldn’t matter, only your grades should. If I walk onto a campus, I don’t care if I see a sea of white faces or a sea of black faces. I only care if those are the best of the best who have qualified based on their skills and performance. Race and gender should have nothing to do with it. If you want to get a scholarship, you need to earn it! Race and gender shouldn’t even appear on the application, just your school transcripts. It’s the only way to be completely fair.

Then you get to prison statistics. Yes, there are a lot of black men in prison. Why? Because a lot of black men commit crimes. This isn’t a matter of racism, it’s often a matter of economics. Black men, in particular, commit a disproportionate number of crimes. It’s not because they’re black, it’s often because they’re poor. Yet the left are brainwashed to only see things in terms of color and gender inequality. They think that everyone ought to be absolutely equivalent in everything and that’s not how reality works. It’s why they’re not dealing with reality, but with their feelings. Like it or not, your feelings don’t matter and that goes for everyone, regardless of what side of the aisle you fall on. I don’t care about equity, I care about justice. If you commit a crime, you go to jail. You get punished in the same way that everyone else does, without regard for your skin color. Are there abuses that we  can point to out there? Absolutely. Should we permit any of it? Absolutely not. Yet the left aren’t looking to fix the problems, they’re looking to stroke their own egos. That’s not something you should be proud of.

That brings us back to BLM, which, according to the organizers themselves, brought in more than $90 million in 2020. That’s an awful lot of money for an organization that exists solely to push a specific racist narrative. How likely do you think it is that they’ll ever admit that they’re no longer necessary? There’s a lot of money on the line. Now you can say that about a lot of different groups, but let’s be realistic. If we cured cancer tomorrow, if it just vanished completely, I don’t think the various cancer charities would make up conspiracy theories so they could keep collecting money. They’d probably shift focus to a new disease. But something like BLM, it exists on the *impression* of racism, not the actual racism itself. Everything that they can spin as racism, that makes them more money. They are there to whip up the crowd because the more they make people agitated, the more money they make. The more people talk about racism, the more they can convince people that racism is a major issue. In that, they’re very similar to fundamentalist Christian churches. They exist to make a spectacle like the Westboro Baptist Church. The more they scream about fire, the more people look around for the smoke. Yet neither of them can actually demonstrate that the fire is real. It’s all a matter of interpretation and not objective fact. The more that rational people point out that they’ve got no proof, the more that these people whine and cry that we must be racists. Why? Because we’re getting in the way of their scam. That’s ultimately what it all comes down to.

Any actual problems that we have, and I’ll be the first to admit that we have plenty, they need to be handled rationally and factually, not based on an agenda or your feelings or your interpretation of events. This is a problem on both sides of the aisle, but this time, it’s purely on the left. It’s liberal indoctrination from a young age, training people to react to the leftist screed, not to sit down and think about the facts independently. In that, it’s just another religion doing what all other religions do. And unfortunately, John fell for it, hook, line and sinker. He’s hardly alone in that, but he had a very bad showing in this video and he’s the one that put it up. Clearly, he  doesn’t know how bad he looks to people who aren’t caught up in the hype. That looks very familiar unfortunately. It looks like just about every religious video that I take a look at. There’s really very little difference between the two.

Sad, isn’t it?
