Life Shouldn’t Be This Hard!

When did everyone become so incredibly stupid? I was nice. I was down at my brother-in-law’s house a couple of weeks ago. His washer and dryer died, finally, so we were talking about getting him a new one. He’s been running to the laundromat for months now. I had found all new appliances for him, since we’re going to be remodeling his kitchen anyhow, so it seemed like a good time to start buying.

Hell, I bought it for him! I threw in a brand new refrigerator too and since I get a discount, I threw it on my Lowes card. Merry Christmas or whatever. Here’s $3k worth of appliances. There you go!

That’s when the problems started.

First off, I tried to order on my phone. Yes, I know that’s not the best idea, I’ve set up orders from Lowes from my PC and it works fine, so I’m not that upset at this. They wouldn’t allow me to pay with my Lowes card from my phone. Okay, fine, no worries. I drove to the local store that would be servicing him, I set everything up, I gave them his name and phone number and address. Easy peasy, right? The guy at the store was really nice and helpful. Zero worries.

Except now, they keep texting me to verify everything. That would be fine, except I already gave them all of his information. They should be contacting him. Still, I verified the address and date of delivery.

Twice.

Then three times.

Then four times.

They just kept doing it. “Is this correct? Type yes or no!” How many times do I have to keep doing this? Then they texted “we’ll call you when we’re on the way” or something to that effect. I texted back “it’s not going to me, don’t call me, call the person who you’re delivering to, the person that I gave you all of the information for!”

Nothing. Radio silence. Now I’m worried. How dumb can these people actually be? So I call the store to verify that they have it right. It’s obviously a real person texting me, since they keep saying “sorry” and then doing it all over again. I get the store, someone who doesn’t know how to speak into a phone, since it was like a whisper, but we get it all worked out. Call him, not me, just like we set it up. We verified the address, we verified the time, we verified everything since I don’t want to be a part of this. I’m just the wallet. This doesn’t even concern me, I just don’t want to be harassed.

Then the bitch on the phone just hung up on me. What happened to basic customer service? What happened to “sorry”? We did set this up in the front end because we didn’t want this to happen. I don’t want to play go-between, I don’t have time for that.

Then again, this is a company that can’t change any information and that thinks I shop in a store 80 miles from my house. You change your home store and the next time you log in, you’re back to being 80 miles away.

How can anyone be this dumb? It honestly shouldn’t be this difficult!
