It’s well-known that I have some pretty serious issues with BitChute, mostly technical in nature. The site just doesn’t work and it doesn’t show any sign of getting better any time soon. However, there are a lot of people out there who dislike BitChute for other reasons. They hate it because it actually has to follow the law and they don’t like that. These people are idiots.Unfortunately, there are a lot of really stupid people out there. Recently over on Reddit, someone said “If they had a spine they would allow anything short of CP. (child porn)” Someone else said that they ought to just ignore all legal notices because freedom means ignoring the law.
Sure, let us know when it’s your ass on the line, then I’ll take you seriously. Because whether these people like it or not, the law applies to everyone. BitChute is based, at present, in the UK and therefore they have to follow the UK laws and also, at least for the present, the laws of the EU. Nobody says they have to like it, nobody says they have to approve, but they still have to do it or the site will be shut down and the owners will be behind bars.
Granted, there are a lot of people out there without the slightest clue how reality works. That’s a huge problem, when you think about it. These are people who behave like children and pretend that actions have no consequences when you close your eyes and wish really hard. Yet that isn’t how the real world works. Reality is in control no matter how much you might desire otherwise. The sooner these mental midgets grow up and figure that out, the better.
Yet it’s not just how reality works, it’s how responsible adults behave and for those who have been watching the YouTube channel lately, I’ve been pretty hard on immature children who exist in adult bodies. It isn’t just the religious that have that problem. Far too many people have never been responsible fore themselves, ever. They’ve spent their entire “adult” lives living in their mother’s basement and they don’t know how anything actually functions. It’s no wonder they come up with some of the ideas that they do because they’ve never had to put them to the test. They’ve never seen the absurdity in their heads crumble and fall when it comes face to face with the real world. Because these people don’t live in the real world.
That’s a problem when you think about it. Yet as I say all the time on my YouTube channel, I’m not sure what we can really do about it. People are dumb. I think that applies to a huge percentage of the population. They’re lazy and stupid and uneducated, they don’t know how to address rational problems or examine the things in their heads critically and that leads to harm across the board. Yet how do you fix that? If you say anything critical to a bunch of BitChute fanboys, you’ll get attacked. They’re “free speech” after all! Never mind that the whole damn system doesn’t work! That doesn’t matter! Or the second that anyone points out that BitChute does censor, no matter what their vaunted morals seem to say, it’s like the end of the world! Whether that censorship is warranted or not, people just shit their pants because the world isn’t going the way they want.
I’ve had people claim that anything ought to go without exception. Kiddy porn? That’s absolutely okay because stopping it interferes with free speech. Murder on screen? That’s okay too! Terrorist recruitment videos? They can’t be squelched either because it’s all free speech! Laws shouldn’t be able to get in the way of things people want to do. In fact, I suspect, some of the extremists think that laws shouldn’t exist and everything should be chaos and somehow, everything will just work itself out. It leaves me wondering what planet these people are actually from because none of that actually works here.
It’s why any time I offer advice to people, part of that is always “have realistic expectations” and it seems like realistic is an unknown concept with a lot of people. These people are just not concerned. They’re going purely from emotion and couldn’t care less if their ideas actually mean a damn thing in reality. It’s why I spend so much time rolling my eyes at the religious and the progressives, because none of them seem to care if their idiotic ideas actually make any sense in the world that we all share. It’s all failed before, multiple times, but they’re not interested because… fee-fees. And I’m really tired of dealing with morons, but that’s the majority of people you see every single day it seems.
