This is going to be a quick one because there isn’t a lot to say. I watched a couple of videos today on being critical of feminism and the far left, but in so doing, every single one of them pushed a far-right, hyper-Christian position.
Honestly, can’t people just be critical of bad ideas without expressing other bad ideas? Is that so hard?
I really don’t consume much political content anymore because I pretty much despise all sides, especially the extremes, but I am really having a hard time finding anyone who actually has a brain in their head. Can we actually be anti-regressive without also being pro-Christian? Is that a thing, or are you all dicks?
I know I’ve said this before but it remains true. Both extremes are idiots. People ought to be able to pick a lane that isn’t on the far left or far right. People ought to be able to make intelligent points without mindless appeals to emotion, or hating the other side because they don’t like you.
You have to be able to form your own opinions without having one extreme or the other tell you what to believe. Honestly, it can’t be that hard!
Yet it seems that it is on both sides. I honestly don’t get why. I’m old, but I’m not stupid. I have never allowed anyone to tell me what to think. That’s why I’m not religious anymore. That’s also why I’m not on the left side of the aisle. I’m not really even on the right side, although a lot of my views are closer to conservatism, but absolutely not religious.
Unfortunately, far too many people out there are just morons. I have seen green-haired activist morons screaming that “you’re dumb because you’re a Christian” and the people on the other side are screaming “you’re dumb because you’re not!” No, you’re both dumb. Nobody should have imaginary friends and nobody should hold political views that are every bit as delusional as the religious idiots. Stop being dumb! It can’t be that hard!
There’s actual scholarship behind all of this. This explains it pretty well:
Where are the reasonable people who form opinions based on evidence and facts? Where do I go to find them? I really wish I knew.
