It’s not hard to see if you just bother to look, but on YouTube especially, there are people on both sides of the social divide that assert that the other side sucks, just because the other side doesn’t agree with their own unsupported assertions. They’re right, everyone else is wrong, so there!
Sorry, but you all suck. You need to come to intellectual conclusions and most of these people just don’t care.
This doesn’t necessarily concern politics, although it easily can. The examples I’m going to give certainly does. There is a big group of YouTube channels that are out there constantly screaming about woke. I’m with them there because woke sucks. However, there are some that do it only because woke disagrees with their own irrational social, political and/or religious views. They are screaming about the faith on the woke side, while exercising nothing but faith on their own.
And, of course, the woke side is doing the exact same thing. Neither side has any evidence that they’re right because neither side cares. Both just want the emotional comfort of their own irrational positions. Neither side cares about the truth and that’s all I care about.
That tends to be why both sides hate me and trust me, the feeling is mutual. The people on the left hate the people on the right, simply because their views do not align and the people on the right hate the people on the left for the same reason.
Truth isn’t remotely a part of the equation.
It’s why, when I look at any of these videos, which I do from time to time, I have to ignore huge swaths of “but it makes me feel good to hate them!” nonsense. Neither side is thinking about their positions rationally. It’s all fee-fees and faith and I think we all ought to be sick and tired of that by now.
If your entire position is “I’m right because I’m right”, then you’re just being an idiot. The idiots who hate the woketards, and granted, they are justified in doing so, but the only reason they speak out against them is because the woketards generally hate Christianity and they, being Christians, have to hate anyone who hates them. The same is generally true of the other side. There’s no intelligent conversation going on, it’s just “my emotionally comforting beliefs say X and because I believe it, it’s true, therefore anyone who disagrees is wrong and my enemy!” You get to the point where you have to wonder what any of them are even doing.
That’s one reason I didn’t bother to vote in the recent primaries. I actively want everyone running to lose. I cannot, in good conscience, vote for any of them. What’s a rational, generally conservative atheist to do?
I don’t want to vote for any vocal Christians. I just don’t. If you can’t keep your religious beliefs to yourself, I don’t want you in office. I also will not vote for any of the current crop of Democrats. I actively despise the way the left works today. Moderates, maybe. Centrists, maybe. Liberals, especially extreme regressives, hell no.
So who is there to vote for? Nobody, which is why I didn’t vote. It doesn’t matter who gets into office, we all lose. For both sides, it’s “I hate you because you’re not me!” Nobody is having an intelligent conversation, it’s just “my side” vs. “your side” and no compromise is possible. It’s why both sides, if you pay attention, are just eating their own because neither side will allow any variation in views. Whoever happens to be in favor at the moment, they get to dictate what everyone else believes, or else. It’s no wonder why this planet is such a mess today. It’s nothing but warring tribes. This is not how anyone accomplishes anything of value.
But people don’t care these days, do they? They’re just after that momentary emotional high and then they complain no matter who is in charge. It’s not about victory, it’s about “we’re better than you are!”
When did the entire planet become children? I’d really like to know.
