This is more of a rant, so if you don’t like that kind of thing, feel free to click away now. I won’t be mad.

However, I’ve been seeing a ton of this lately and I am ever so sick of it. I mean YouTube channels who exist only to explain why they hate absolutely everything that they do, yet they keep on doing it. It’s rage-bait for the sake of rage-bait.

Holy crap, assholes, you can just stop!

Now I’ve known about this forever. There are entire political channels that spend all of their time complaining about all of the things that they hate, yet they keep going to see it. Movie channels that hate all the movies they see, yet they keep going to them. TV channels that are rage-watching things they know they’re going to detest, just so they can keep complaining about it. Political channels who hate everything the other side of the aisle has to say, yet they focus exclusively on everything that the other side has to say.

I wouldn’t say if they were doing it as a warning, but apparently, their audience just likes to watch them whine. If they were correcting the things that they were watching, fine. If they were providing coherent commentary, that’s okay. However, these people just ramble on and on and on about how much they hate it, yet they keep doing it anyhow!

I think this came to a head with a channel I have seen a few things from here and there. She focuses on gaming, especially Dungeons & Dragons and Warhammer 40k. She absolutely despises everything having to do with D&D and Warhammer. I think she likes the idea behind them, but she absolutely hates the companies, the rules, the figures, everything there is about the actual games. She spends every single video ranting about how terrible it is…

And she still pays a ton of money buying these things!

Now I’m sure they’re all making a bunch of money from the other idiots who have nothing better to do with their lives than sit there and watch another moron online rant incoherently. I mean, it’s not like it’s breaking news. It’s not like “here’s this thing from this company that I greatly respect, look at how it’s all gone horribly wrong!” It’s clickbait nonsense, everything is horrible and awful, the companies are criminals, they produce garbage that nobody in their right mind should ever buy into…

Yet every single video is “look at all this stuff I bought!” Then they complain about how much money they spent and do it over and over again! If you don’t like it, STOP DOING IT!

It’s not that hard! It’s like they don’t have any self control, or, more likely, they know their audience and their audience isn’t that bright.

I will never understand pandering to morons. It’s why I don’t do it. I don’t pander to anyone. I don’t use clickbait titles, I don’t pretend that things are going to happen that aren’t, I just say what I want to say and that’s it.

Then again, I’m not an entitled asshole sitting at home all day, making videos for a buck on YouTube. So, I guess there is that.
