So, I just  got permanently banned from Reddit for the stupidest imaginable reason. I don’t really care, it just shows what a complete waste of time it is, but here’s the story anyhow.

I promise, you’ll be rolling your eyes by the end.

So it was a discussion in an atheist subreddit, talking about all of the evil things that the religious do. Things like Catholic priests molesting children and Muslims throwing gay people off of roofs. So it came around to, what do we do with these people when the law eventually catches up to them, especially since they so often say “we’re only following our religion! You can’t hold us accountable!”

Well, bullshit. Absolutely we can. So I said “I don’t know that we should even keep them alive” and that’s where the Reddit ban-hammer came down.

Now anyone reading the context of the discussion would know that I was talking about legal ramifications for their offenses. I personally think these people should be put to death for crimes against humanity. It was said of the justice system, not just running around putting bullets in the brains of offenders.

Of course, the people who reported it know that Reddit doesn’t care about context. They get far too many reports to care about the details. They just ban first and forget all about it. I’m not mad about that because, honestly, I don’t pay them and neither does anyone else. Whatever.

Besides, Reddit is a time-sink just like all social media and I’ve got better things to do. I could easily appeal and I’d win, but I’m not going to bother. Big deal. I could also create a new account. There’s nothing they could do about that. I’m not going to do that. I’m just going to get back to work on other more worthwhile things. There’s no reason to worry about it. Life goes on.
