I honestly don’t get the religious. I’ve been doing a couple of videos of late that are just… painful to get through because the theist is just so obnoxiously dumb and they’re seemingly proud of it.
That reminded me of one of our own resident religious wing nuts, Jeremy Crofutt, who has posted a bunch of really asinine things of late and doesn’t seem to understand what the hell he’s doing wrong.
So let’s explain it, even though I doubt he’s capable of understanding.
The quote I was thinking of immediately was the following. It came, if I remember right, after he made some claim about God, I asked him to back up any of it with evidence and he said:
I don’t have to prove something that God has already proved. In fact that is why you are so angry.
Sorry, that’s just not impressive. Stating something as a fact without backing it up as a fact doesn’t mean anything. This is all-too common though among the religious, they are convinced, for irrational reasons, that their imaginary friends are real and that must mean that everyone else believes it too. We just want to sin or whatever stupid crap they come up with to explain it.
The problem is that God hasn’t proven anything, at least in any demonstrable way. He might have faith that it’s happened, but that means nothing. You have to put up or you ought to shut up and, as I said to him, I don’t think he has the capacity to do either one. Of course, this is hardly original to Jeremy. I doubt he could find an original thought if he tried. I’ve been hit with the same general thing in several threads, on several channels, over the last several weeks because they really want to believe that they’re right, even if they can’t demonstrate it to anyone.
Here’s the thing. It doesn’t matter how personally convinced you are of a thing, if someone asks you to back it up, you’d better have the evidence to trot out there, otherwise you’re going to look like an idiot. It’s like 1 Peter 3:15 says: “Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have.” That means you’d better have something better to say than “I’m right!” “I’m right!” doesn’t prove anything.
Yet that’s the best that any of these mental midgets have to offer. They believe it and that makes it true, at least in their tiny little minds. They just assume that everyone else thinks exactly like they do, even if everyone else denies it. They can’t comprehend a world where their way of thinking isn’t universal. Unfortunately for these people, they are simply mistaken.
There was another idiot on another channel that kept demanding that I prove him wrong and then, he sat there, about every 3 minutes, saying “are you still there?” It was a long, long line of him saying stupid stuff because clearly he couldn’t understand that a) he has to back up his own claims and b) people aren’t just sitting there staring at the screen 24/7. These people are really dumb. I honestly think there is something broken upstairs. The more of these really insistent theists that I run into, the clearer it becomes that they’re mentally incompetent.
That’s kind of sad.
Do more than just profess your faith and expect everyone else to believe it too. When you make a claim like “God proved it”, you’d better be ready to show how you came to that conclusion and what specific evidence you can point to that it ever happened. You can’t just insist that you believe it and that ought to be enough. It’s not. You have to present your evidence and if you can’t, then you’ve just made a fool of yourself.
That’s something that Jeremy Crofutt has become very, very good at doing. He’s convinced that God is real but he can’t express why that might be the case. “It just is!” doesn’t mean anything to anyone with a brain in their head. Unfortunately, that doesn’t seem to say much about Jeremy or a lot of other theists. Your faith isn’t good enough. You have to be able to do better than that and they, sadly, never can. They’re also not bright enough to figure out what they’re doing wrong. It’s why trying to have an adult conversation with these fools is such a complete waste of time. It’s like talking to a brick wall.
Unfortunately, the bricks are smarter than these morons are.
Where can I contact you? Love your channel and wonder if you want to work together
Right here?
Was Isaac Newton “dumb???”
He was a huge believer in God.
He was smarter than every atheist.
When it came to his religious beliefs, yes he was. Of course, he lived at the very beginning of the Enlightenment, so lots of people back then were dumb. They didn’t have the scientific knowledge to be otherwise. They just assumed that gods were real because they didn’t have explanations otherwise. “God” was just a placeholder for their own ignorance.
Yet you don’t put up the evidence thar I have given. Why not put up all my comments and talk about them. Anyway thanks for the pr, even though I’m not looking for it.
Because you haven’t provided any evidence. You’ve just made claims. You’ve just told us what you believe. Belief is not evidence. Evidence must be objectively verifiable to ANYONE regardless of their beliefs on the subject.
Try coming up with some of that.
