There was another video from The Atheist Experience where, at least it sounds to me, that the left is entirely blinded to the things that they do, while being hyper-focused on what the right is doing.
That’s nothing new. I’ve pointed that out before, but the examples are blindingly easy to come up with. So let’s take a look.
First, of course, here’s the video and you can take a look at it if you’d like.
Now keep in mind, I don’t disagree with Andrew Seidel at all. This is exactly what the religious are trying to do and we need to fight it, but by the same token, the left has been trying to push their own social agenda on people through force of law for years and none of them ever talk about that.
This is especially poignant on a show that insists on pushing the leftist view on pronouns on every single call, even for people who think the whole idea is idiotic. In fact, there are videos on their channel where they openly mock people who say “fuck your stupid pronouns”. This isn’t individual choice, it’s them imposing their views on others. Granted, it isn’t just a stupid Internet show that does this, and there are more than a couple that do, this has been the law of the land in several states, at least until the courts put a stop to it. In California, it used to be illegal to “misgender” people in nursing homes. I guess nobody ever heard of free speech.
That’s just a single example but this kind of thing happens all the time. They’re blind when they do it but laser-focused when someone else does something they don’t like. That’s called blatant hypocrisy. See, freedom exists for everyone, not just the things that you like. Free speech is free for all, not just the people who agree on your ideological bent. If it’s wrong for the religious right to do these things, then it’s wrong for the political left. There are no double standards and both sides seem to think that there are.
Fuck both sides. As everyone ought to know by now, I don’t give a shit about your fee-fees. If someone said a word you don’t approve of, too bad. Grow up. If someone did something that you don’t like, so what? So long as it’s legal, you have no control. Nobody says you have to like it and nobody can control how you react, again, within the bounds of the law, but you can’t do any more than say you’re unhappy and they can tell you, in response, where to shove it. Neither side gets to impose their views on everyone else through force of law, yet that’s exactly what both extremes are trying to do in American politics.
It has to stop.
While this is just another example of the hypocrisy on the political left, which is no worse than the hypocrisy on the religious right, both sides need to take a hike. We cannot permit this to happen any longer and neither side will give up the fight willingly. Both just want to be in charge. That’s a violation of everything that makes western society great. Nobody is in charge of how people are allowed to think. We all have the freedom to think as we’d like, to believe as we’d like and to react as we’d like. Our actions might be limited, we can’t violate the law, but that’s not one side imposing their views on the other, it’s true for absolutely everyone. Double standards are simply not permitted, and both sides are desperately trying to impose them on the other.
To this, I say hell no. It’s time to send both sides scurrying back under their irrational rocks. Let’s get back to freedom for all.
