In New York, Jewish Rabbis are suing over a law that requires them to get parental support in order to suck the blood out of a freshly circumcised penis? So… they want to go around sucking dicks without consent? Seriously?
Three rabbis and three ultra-orthodox Jewish groups have filed suit to stop a new law that requires them to get parental consent, in the form of a legal release, before performing the Jewish ritual called “metzitzah b’peh” which requires the rabbi to suck blood from the newly-circumcised penis and spit it out, into a bowl of some sort presumably.
The law was brought on by two fatalities in infants since 2004, where the rabbi spread infection, notably herpes, by introducing the disease into the child’s open wound by mouth. Studies estimate that of the more than 20,000 male children who could have potentially undergone this ritual, eleven were infected by rabbis. Ten required hospitalization. Two developed permanent brain damage. Two died. We’ve done the science, we’ve found that the risk of disease transmission is approximately 25 in 100,000 cases, 3-4x higher than children who did not get a Jewish blowjob.
Any rational society would say “no, you can’t do that at all, at least unless everyone involved is certified free of disease”, etc. A slightly less rational society, like we have in the United States, would and did demand that, at least the parents of these children deserve to give informed consent and sign off on the ritual. No one is saying that the rabbis can’t suck all the baby cock they want, a statement which is disturbing and reprehensible on it’s face, they’re just saying the parents need to know the risks and agree to them.
So why are the rabbis bitching? It’s not like this is a giant new bureaucracy that tracks the rabbi’s activities. Nobody even collects the forms, the rabbi is required to file them away for a year and then they can be destroyed. Rabbis Samuel Blum, Ahron Leiman and Shloime Eichenstein claim that this is somehow an infringement on their religious rights, but I’m sorry, since when did giving a baby incurable herpes become a religious right? It’s really stupid.
Of course, some rabbis have vowed to simply ignore the law and continue to suck off babies regardless. While I think this is unfortunately unlikely, I’d love to see New York City prosecute these rabbis as sex criminals, engaging in a practice which is, as they are doing it, illegal. Put them in jail. Make them register as sex offenders. Religious practices that harm people should be stopped, period. New York City could have easily just banned the practice outright, they instead compromised and the Jewish community is throwing it in their faces. Next time, don’t be so nice. Take these cock-sucking bastards off the streets entirely. Maybe they can go to prison and show Bubba how much they’ve learned.
