It’s really sad to see people try to treat their pets like members of the family. No, I don’t mean loved, cared for creatures that live in your house, I mean literal quasi-human members of the family. We’ve all heard of the crazy cat-lady, the person who values feline companionship over having real people around. In my opinion, these people have serious socialization issues. Displacing so much of your emotional well-being onto an animal, especially to the point of treating the animal as an anthropomorphized pseudo son or daughter, demonstrates something very wrong with these individuals.
Here’s a video of the problem in action. This crazy lady has not only convinced herself that her cat is a member of the family, she’s taught it to eat at the table with utensils. Granted, she has to rubber-band the utensils to the cat’s paws and I’m sure that the cat was none to happy about it initially, but how pathetic can you get?
Someone needs to explain the difference between a cat and a person to this loon, probably in conjunction with serious psychological help. It’s not cute, it’s pathetic.
