My Take on Democrat Policies

Democrat_JackassSince I used an alternate source for my piece on the Republicans, I’m going to use the same source for the Democrats.  Again, if you disagree with the position listed on my source, please comment and let me know why.

Social Security

That would be great if it actually was.  However, it’s been a pool for the government to steal from any time they come up a few dollars short for decades now.  There’s no way to replace the billions of dollars that have been plundered through government incompetence and within a decade or two, the entire system will be insolvent.  Sorry, I don’t really trust the government, especially as it stands now, to handle my retirement in any responsible manner.

Jobs

I hate unions with a passion.  I’ve been in unions and I’ve been management over unions and I hated both.  I support every union in the nation vanishing tomorrow and the criminal union bosses need to die cruel, painful deaths.  I feel that strongly about it.  They say they want to “encourage businesses to keep jobs here”, but obviously that’s not how it works.  In California, for instance, a state almost entirely run by the Democratic Party, we have one of the worst business environments in the nation.  They chase industry out of the state by taxing the crap out of them, imposing ridiculous environmental laws and proposing contradictory business laws that no one can possibly follow.  That’s why California’s economy is in the crapper and has been even longer than the rest of the nation.

Economy

Increase taxes to reduce deficit?  Bullshit.  We currently have the largest deficit in the history of the nation.  We also don’t pay off our national debt, it just keeps getting bigger and bigger and bigger regardless of which party is in power.  The only thing that is going to improve the conditions in this country is to cut government spending, but the Democrats aren’t interested in doing that.  They increase the number of government agencies and government workers constantly.  If you’re going to screw us, at least be honest about it.

Security/Defense

I’ll actually agree to some degree with this one.  Diplomacy is always going to be better than military action.  Calling in the troops ought to be restricted only for the most extreme situations where diplomacy has failed.  Of course, this requires that we actually have decent diplomats that know what they’re doing and don’t spend their time threatening everyone around them if they don’t get their way all the time.  We need to spend more time on our own internal problems and a lot less worrying about everyone else.

Legal/Tort Reforms

Here we get the other side of the coin.  Where the Republicans support screwing the victim and supporting big business, the Democrats want to screw big business and support the victim.  I want to go after *EVERYONE*.  I want to end frivolous lawsuits entirely.  In fact, I support serious punishments and penalties for anyone who blatantly attempts to bring a frivolous lawsuit into the courtroom.  Maybe make some of these scum-sucking lawyers think before they take a case.  Both sides are entirely bullshit.

Tax Reform

Sure, they want to tax anyone that isn’t them.  I don’t want the rich taxed excessively, the rich are where the majority of jobs are created!  California again is a good example.  We’ve taxed the crap out of the rich to the point that most of them have left the state and now we’re getting *ZERO* tax revenue out of them.  And the Democrats aren’t bright enough to realize what’s going on.  Screw you, Democrats.

Immigration

Can’t say it any more succinctly than this.  Fuck you, Democrats.  The last thing we need is an even bigger tax burden by allowing millions of untrained, uneducated illegal aliens to become citizens.  There’s a reason we have immigration laws in the first place.  We’ve pretended they don’t exist for far too long, it’s time to get back to allowing *US* to decide who can come and who cannot, not some sleazebag who jumps a fence because they don’t give a damn about American law, they just want American money.

Faith

Wouldn’t it be nice if that was actually true?  But you’ve still got Obama pushing the “Faith-based Initiative” nonsense and you’ve still got Southern churches being strongly involved in political speech, which is a violation of their tax-exempt status.  The Democrats aren’t any better than the Republicans here, they’re just not quite as painfully up-front about it.

Education

Democrats are the worst thing that ever happened to American education.  Their support for the teacher’s unions has ruined most school districts.  They want to pour lots and lots of money into schools, but most of that money never reaches the classrooms, it’s absorbed by the administration.  When, as is the case at my youngest daughter’s school, there are as many secretaries in the office as there are teachers on campus, something is seriously wrong.

Abortion

This is one of the issues that caused the mass exodus of Southern Democrats in the 70s, causing them to take over the Republican party.  I’ll even agree with them on this one, I think abortion should be safe, legal and rare.

Energy

This is where the Democrats get environmentally wacky.  I’m not a tree-hugger by any means and I think Al Gore is a complete prick.  I want to use whatever resources we can in order to be energy independent and if that means drilling off-shore or in ANWR, so be it, I’m all for it.  We ought to be as environmentally friendly as we can in doing so, we ought not cause unnecessary harm and we certainly ought to be trying to find alternative energy sources, but the idea that we should freeze because we might hurt a butterfly is idiotic.

Healthcare

As I said on the Republican side, neither party is at all interested in handling the actual problems we have in healthcare.  I don’t trust the government as it currently stands farther than I can throw them, they’ve proven themselves entirely incompetent and have almost bankrupted social security and Medicare, why would I give them billions more to mismanage?  Try again.

Foreign Policy

I don’t necessarily support the UN as it currently stands, I think we need to chart our own destiny for domestic policy.  I have no problem with it for international matters, so long as we don’t use it for our own self-serving means and that’s exactly what we’ve been doing.  The idea that we ought to be able to tell other countries what they can and cannot do because we have the big guns is absurd.

Guns

The Democrats go way too far in their restrictions of firearms.  If the ultra-left got their way, then I would worry about the government coming to take your guns, from your cold dead hands if need be.  Reasonable control is fine.  Extreme control is not.

Gay Rights

As I’ve already said I strongly support gay rights, this is a no-brainer.  I do oppose those Democrats who only want civil unions.  I want complete and total equality in all things.  Separate but equal didn’t work in civil rights, it ought not work in gay rights.

So there you go, I’m not a Democrat either.  In fact, I’m much farther from the liberal side than I am from even the current Republican neo-con side and I’ll be honest, I don’t have much respect for most things liberal.  As much as I detest the current Republican party, I hate the Democrats even more.

Except now, they've raided the Social Security coffers for so long and the baby boomers are all hitting retirement age at the same time, there just isn't enough money to go around. They're saying that in less than 20 years, Social Security will be entirely insolvent. Medicare looks like it'll go under in less than 8 years.

It doesn't matter how people think, it's just reality that the coffers are empty.

Young people always say that Social Security won't be there for them because they don't like paying the taxes. When they get old, they get their Social Security and are happy to get it. This has been going on for at least 40 years. People just think long term.
