Hello world!

Hello and welcome to my world.  I’ve fought with blogs for a long time, I’ve really had nothing very nice to say about them over the years, they always came off as the depressed rantings of the immature who figured that the world revolved around their choice of music while they posted drawn-out whines about how rotten their lives were.  As such, I’ve always focused my attention on various debate forums and Usenet newsgroups as a place to put out my ideas and debate with others.

I have to thank my lovely wife for finally convincing me to put this blog together, she has her own site (conveniently listed to the right) and between helping her set hers up and deciding that it might not be so bad to have a place to vent my spleen from time to time, I finally gave in and here we are.

My purpose here is a forum to present ideas, defend positions and present facts about a wide variety of topics from the very serious to the terminally silly.  I want feedback, I want comments and I want people who are willing and able to defend their own positions to take up my gauntlet and debate what they believe to be true.  We’ve only got one life to live, we might as well do it accepting reality as it comes rather than inventing comforting lies that do nothing but betray us in the end.
